As we find ourselves amidst the scorching summer days, we can’t help but look back with gratitude on the incredible events and moments we’ve shared as a church family. With the summer events drawing to a close and the new school year on the horizon, we have so much to reflect on and anticipate together.
Associational Children’s Camp – Thrive: May 31st to June 3

We kicked off the summer with an unforgettable Associational Children’s Camp themed “Thrive.” For four days, our children immersed themselves in exciting activities and engaging Bible studies, focusing on the Fruit of the Spirit. It was a joy to witness their enthusiasm and genuine desire to grow in their faith as they prepared for the new academic year.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.” – Galatians 5:22–23 (CSB)
Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in New Orleans – June 11-14

Our time at the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in New Orleans was a significant milestone for our denomination. As we worshiped together, our hearts were ignited with passion and conviction for the Great Commission. The highlight of the meeting was the commissioning of almost 70 international missionaries, reaffirming our commitment to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. During the business sessions, Southern Baptists clarified essential doctrines, reinforcing our commitment to biblical truths. We also took a stand against sexual abuse, reaffirming our dedication to protecting and nurturing every member of our church family. Additionally, we upheld the biblical truth that God has ordained men to serve as pastors, adhering to His design for leadership in the church.
“Declare his glory among the nations, his wondrous works among all peoples.” – Psalm 96:3 (CSB)
Falls Creek Youth Camp – “Jesus”: June 26 to July 1

Our youth experienced an incredible week at Falls Creek Youth Camp, where they focused on the theme “Jesus.” Through passionate worship and transformative messages, our students learned the importance of sharing the gospel with others. Equipped with a fresh zeal for Christ, they return to face the upcoming school year with faith and determination.
“This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time. For this I was appointed a herald, an apostle (I am telling the truth; I am not lying), and a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.” – 1 Timothy 2:3-7 (CSB)
Vacation Bible School – Twists and Turns: July 13-15
Vacation Bible School brought laughter and joy to our church as we explored the twists and turns of life through the lens of Psalm 25:4 – “Show me your ways, Lord; teach me your paths.” The truths of God’s Word were presented in fun and interactive ways, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of our children. Though we did not see immediate responses to the gospel, we trust in God’s timing and pray for His continued work in their lives. The seeds of faith were sown, and we eagerly anticipate how God will nurture and grow those seeds in the days ahead.

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” – Romans 10:17 (ESV)
As we now transition into the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year, let’s carry the lessons learned and the experiences shared with us. May we continue to seek God’s guidance, love one another with compassion, and stand firm in the unchanging truths of His Word.
Let us press on, encouraged by all that God has done, and with great anticipation for the future He has prepared for Chandler Southern Baptist Church.
